Frequently asked questions:
What do I need to bail someone out of jail?
You will need the fee (12% of the bond amount), cosigner, and possibly
some form of collateral.
What forms of payment are accepted for the 12% bonding fee?
We accept cash, check/money order, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
What is the fee?
The fee for a bail bond in the state of Louisiana is 12% of the bond total. There is also a processing fee of
$30 for each charge for which the arrest was made. For example a $10,000 bond for someone who was
arrested with 3 charges, the fee would be $1,200 for the bond plus a processing fee of $30 x 3 charges,
bringing the bond total to $1,290.
Is the fee refundable once the arrested appears in court?
No, the fee is nonrefundable and is the initial premium required to release someone from jail.
What information do you need from me when I call?
*Name of the arrested
*List of Charges
*12% of the bond total
Why do I need a cosigner and what are they responsible for?
A cosigner is the person who is responsible for the full face amount of the bond if the defendant does not show up for court. In the event that the bond is for a large amount, the cosigner will be required to put up some form of collateral to ensure the defendant will appear in court. Collateral can be in the form of money, home or property, or other assets. Collateral will be returned once the defendant shows up for court.
